I work as a therapist(community mental health field) at a small residential branch of a larger agency. It's me, another therapist, a case manager, and what's called a peer specialist(essentially an unlicensed counselor). Due to poor management and unfair treatment our case manager recently quit. They were the backbone of this facility. Our clients are mostly coming from homelessness and addiction and need A LOT of help when it comes to finding housing, medication, social security, sober living, getting to appointments, you name it. We are already being worked to the limit and they decided their response would be to just not hire a new case manager. case management work is TOUGH, and takes a lot of time and energy. They are expecting us to keep our current case loads, run the house, and now do CM work on top of that for no extra pay. They aren't open at all to any compromises even though me and my coworkers came up with some great solutions. Do you guys and gals ever feel like these companies go out of their way to make our lives harder but for no reason whatsoever? There's no logic in their choices. They wonder why they can't keep staff but treat us like shit. I can't wrap my head around it. especially in this industry because the clients suffer as a result. it's gross. sorry needed to rant. would love to hear opinions, comments, and support lol. I need it.
