I’ve been freelancing for a company for a year (WFH). They’re having a “Holiday Happy Hour” near their HQ in NYC and invited me. I know it would “look bad” if I didn’t go, but I’m an hour 30 away. I also worked in NYC for 12 years pre-pandemic and I have no desire to go back even just for the happy hour (Plus there’s the tri-demic?) I don’t want to play the corporate game of showing face just to look good. What do I do? ️
