Hospital in FL requiring employees to stay after their shift to sleep in the basement and not be paid

A certain hospital in FL (rhyming with ShmadventSmelth) is requiring us to come in for our shift, clock out when we’re done and sleep for 12 hrs until the next shift. This is commonly how our hospitals tend to do things when it comes to hurricanes but the big key difference is WE ARE PAID the entire time we are here. This sounds like kidnapping to me but I have been wrong before. Is this legal??
