Hospitals Don’t Care About Staff or Patient Safety.

I’ve been in healthcare at total of six years with various roles. Currently a traveler and out of the four hospitals I’ve been to in varying locations, three of them had a shooter incident or bomb threat. And you know what they all say when we inevitably bring up how the hell visitors were able to bring in guns? Why we don’t have more metal detectors present because they say it’s not feasible to hire more security and pay them appropriately? ”The sight of metal detectors is unseemly.” ”We confiscated so many weapons that our visitors weren’t satisfied with our policies or care” ”If we have too many metal detectors, our patients will think it’s too dangerous.” So, there you have it. The hospital admin and execs would rather prioritize satisfaction and false sense of security than actually provide security.
