“Hours worked” for OT calculation is BS

Just ranting.. I know this is legal but I still think it’s wrong. I called in yesterday because I’m very sick. Now my job is forcing OT that I won’t get paid OT pay for all because of that sick day. It’s just so ridiculous that I could work 13+ hours in a day and it still doesn’t count as OT and that it goes by the week and not days. My companies policy also says that if my total “extended” hours worked this week goes beyond that 8 hours of my call in time I still won’t reach OT pay. I will prob end up with 110 hours in the 2 week pay period. But I guess it’s my fault for getting sick
