I have a job that requires 3 employees all taking 8 hour shifts driving, riding, or sleeping in a van. This means that the van we operate is running non-stop 24/7. The only bonus of this job is that we get paid 24/7, unless we grab a hotel for the night which doesn't happen often.
We get no benefits and I started at $10/hour with anything over 40 hours per week as overtime. As you can imagine, the only way to make a decent living doing this is to never be home and pray that the van doesn't break down and cause you to get off of the clock. I think we are criminally underpaid considering that this is a more high profile job requiring us to carry firearms.
