Hey y’all, I’ve been working with a company roughly two years now. I was told at my first yearly review I couldn’t receive the normal raise but was given 1k as “good faith”
It’s now been a year and a half and I’ve been told the company can’t afford to offer raises at the moment. But luckily for me, I’m being transitioned to the position I was looking at, I just need to wait on a raise.
Problem is, I can’t. I just paid all my bills and I have 12 dollars left in my account. How the fuck can I angle for a raise because it’s crazy to me that we can’t afford raises, yet our customer facing employees are staying in $600/Night hotels and I’m literally deciding which bill to be late on this month. Like this isn’t even a tenure issue, but like a “hey the world is getting wildly expensive” issue.
For any naysayers- I’m extremely aggressive with my saving, don’t live above my means, don’t travel often if ever and honestly don’t spend much money outside of bills and maybe going to the bar once a week. So don’t tell me to just eat less avocado toast or whatever lol.
