Yesterday I created a thread and discussed about how many people hated offfice work and why to bother even being in an office when the work can be done from home, from a beach, a cafe or anywhere which your prefer over an office. I got some good replies.
I switched jobs a few months ago, previously worked remote. This job is a bit of hybrid but I have been home for most of the time. I hope things will stay like this and not change, but I am prepared if they are asking us to come back to the office even for one day a week.
How can someone go about telling their managers that they want WFH pemanently instead of the office? I get my work done in time, and I deliver beyond their expectations. However, I do hate the commute that I have to take, the old and stinky furnitures at work, a lunch in a box and missing out of all the fun activities which I can perform during the day while still getting paid because I am home. Like doing my groceries, laundry, whatever I prefer to doo. Sometimes I might play a game or two but that is not something affecting my work.
If we get new hires, we might have to train them, which sucks, because then the manager could say hey come back to the office and do the training here. What is your suggestions to overcome this piece of shit call of coming back to an office or even better, how do you convince your manager that you want WFH? If they deny it, what is your plan?
I don't think I will ever work in an office one more time again, atleast not permanently. Maybe for a larger meeting yea but dont expect me to drive back and forth for nothing.
I don't hate work itself, or well, I guess I do, I just hate shitty managers, office politics, stinky smells and interacting with people you don't even want to cheer on outside of work.
