I don’t get sick nearly enough to use all of my acquired sick time. I receive 8 hours monthly of paid sick time.
I can’t call in sick because it would go against my absenteeism rate which affects my ability to work remote once per week. I need to give at least a 2 week notice for any absences. Regardless if I have sick time available or not.
I’d love to be able to use it for something more personal or extra vacation. It seems the only way I can use it without it hurting me is for appointments scheduled at least 2 weeks out.
