how fucking normal is it to be asked to be “flexible” and available 7 days a week for part time work?

I've honestly been out of part time work field for a while now. Due to personal circumstances I am looking for part time work. There are some days I'm not free, and I absolutely can't get out of. I see on job postings MUST be available all evenings. They might post stuff like 25 hours for the job description. Doing the math and looking at their hours though, all evenings would still be more than 25 hours. If they need someone to cover a certain shift. Why don't they say it? am I asking too much?

Its just so frustrating. I showed up on one interview and I was like I'm not free just this one day. And they said, OK sorry bye, we need someone for (Monday) I was free every other day. But they were like, well what if Becky is sick? How you gonna cover her?

Anyways, to reiterate. Is there no hope finding a part time job? so many are asking for 7 days a week availability but part time work. What the heck

And as my name implies, yes I'm in Canada.
