How long do you see yourself changing jobs to get a significant raise?

I've been at my current job since 2018. I was going to look for a new job around 2020, but the pandemic hit and leaving a stable job seemed too risky at the time. Now that thing are more or less back to normal, I'm thinking of looking for a new job again. But I'm 40 now. I'm tired of constantly having to leave my job every few years to get a real raise. I want to stay with one company, not have to learn a new system, new co-workers, new commute, etc. Also being 40 now, I feel like some companies might have a bias against hiring an older employee. I don't know how much longer I can do this, I won't be able to retire for like another three decades..
