Hi everyone,
I'm a 25F. I went from college to medschool, and then got dismissed from medical school. I'm currently about to start a Masters program and hopefully obtain a typical company job.
Since I spent so much of my career building years as pre-med, and mostly looked into what jobs in medicine are like, I have surprisingly large gaps in knowledge on what ordinary ” white-collar” jobs are like.
I guess besides the “is it really just 9-5” , how many company holidays do you folks get? I know in medicine, it's literally none, and I'd always heard in “regular jobs” you can count on a few extra days off a year.
My dad's workplace gives almost all the time between Christmas and New Year's off ( basically like the winter break HS students get). I've heard Pfizer does something similar.
Can anybody share what their job offers? Thanks! I'm a curios person.
