This is really messing with me…I spent my whole life making just above minimum wage, working in service and retail and I was always drained at the end of the day.
Recently I got my first “office job” and it's fully remote which I love because I get super distracted by office environments.
What's really screwing with my head is that I get paid really well, a bigger salary than most of my friends and I work like maximum 3-4 hours a day.
IS THIS NORMAL?!
I ask not just to try to figure out if I'm alone here (I can hardly ask my coworkers “hey do you also have a ton of free time all day?!” But also because I'm afraid I stumbled onto a goldmine here and that if I ever want to change jobs I'll be back to working 8 hours in a different corporate job.
TLDR; 1. How many hours a day do you actually work and what's your job (white collar? Blue collar? Remote? In person?)
-
And how common is it in remote jobs to work barely half the day?
-
How do you find out while applying for jobs if it's going to turn out to be a solid 8 hours kinda job or a 3 hours and coast kinda job?
Thanks y'all! (Still starstruck at making a salary)
