Hey everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong sub to be posting this sort of question- if so, please let me know of any better places to do so.
So I’ve been scrolling this sub a lot, and while it is wonderful knowing that there are so many people out there who I share the antiwork sentiment with, sometime I can’t help feeling defeated knowing what we’re up against.
I won’t bore anyone with the details but I had a rough upbringing and at this point I am way to stubborn to live a shit life after the fact! Just like everyone else here, I think the whole work until you die thing is a scam/ straight up bullshit- and I’m not gonna delude myself thinking anything otherwise. My question is, how can I still live a happy life knowing this? I just can’t fathom continuing to slave away in a 9-5, living just to reach the weekend only for the cycle to almost immediately reset, over and over until retirement.
I know it’s a biggie, but if anyone has anything they could share, or any books they recommend reading etc, I would love to know. Should I be aiming to be some kind of free spirit? should I just buy lotto tickets? give up and accept that this corporate hamster wheel is the be all and end all? Life of crime? Also, I have no idea if anyone will reply to this, but if you are considering it, please no negative answers- I’m just looking for a pick me up
