Talking with a coworker tonight, and the company flat out violated FMLA in his case. Not a pay discrepancy, but still a violation.
I have another one who they just… They blatantly said “fuck you” to the ADA. Twice. Over the same condition.
Both of them had an issue with their taxes from the last year, and by the sounds of it someone decided to just up and change a bunch of W4's without anyone's knowledge or consent. Just an absolutely absurd amount of dependents. I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure this is illegal. Some type of fraud at the very least I'd say.
I personally have noted several violations of both federal and state labor laws, such as inadequate rest periods and the way they round time punches is illegal.
I'm checked out on the company, already got a job offer that up until a couple days ago was a lot more money. Just waiting to hear about my start date. But these are people I'm friends with. I really hate the thought of them continuing to go through this. How can I go about convincing them to learn their rights and start fighting this behavior?
Edit: W4 was I9, someone helpfully pointed out my mistake
