How to donate leftover food

This may be a long shot, and it may not be the group to post this in, but hopefully if not, someone can at least point me in the right direction. I work for a large company, and we use a vendor to stock food in the cafeteria in one of our buildings. They come twice a week, once to bring new items and restock everything, and then once at the end of the week to take the items at or near the expiration date, and throw them away. I work for a large company, and we use a vendor to stock food in the cafeteria in one of our buildings. They come twice a week, once to bring new items and restock everything, and then once at the end of the week to take the items at or near the expiration date, and throw them away. The vendor has told me that tons of food gets thrown away at every location he goes to, so I know my company isn’t alone in this, and I know that the company donating the food can be tricky because of liability for food that isn’t good, etc., but I hate seeing all the food getting thrown in the garbage every week when I know there are people that can use it. Does anyone know of any way that I can get the company to donate the food, or what the best way would be to get it to a donation center of some kind? Is my best move to take the food with me and anonymously drop it off somewhere on my way home? Can the UPCs on the items be traced back to my company? Help me do a good thing here
