I have a coworker who loves me.. I know it's not something to complain about, having a coworker that I get along with. The problem is that we work remotely and she calls me very very frequently. At least 3 times a day. And the call lasts for hours. We just talk while we work. It's honestly so distracting for me but she says that she likes working that way because it makes her day go by faster. Our manager has said that he doesnt mind this as long as we're getting our work done.
I've already tried telling her multiple times that I prefer to not be on the phone all of the time and she'll stop calling for a day or two but then slowly she builds back up to it I just don't know what to do. When I tell her that I don't want to talk, she becomes very closed off and it makes it hard to work with her. She'll withhold information that I need to do my job. Granted it isn't her job to tell me, our boss should be relaying the information but he does this thing where he tells one of us but not the other because he assumes we'll communicate the information to each other.
So I'm at a loss. I really really need the phone calls to stop because they're making my fairly easy job extremely unbearable. But if I say something, it makes work super tense. Any idea what I should do? I've started applying to other jobs but nothing really compares with the salary and benefits I have now.
