How to handle manager who talks about personal life non stop and sits next to me?

My manager, who hired me, sits next to me in our office. There's only 3 of us and the other coworker doesn't talk much. I'm pretty friendly and outgoing so I will respond to my manager when she talks, but it's gotten to the point of being unbearable. And the worst part is that she only ever wants to talk about her personal life. Kids, husband, weekend trips, etc. All things I have no interest in and I struggle to respond. Plus, sometimes, when I'm in the middle of a job, I would have to stop to listen to her because I I can't read and listen to someone . I don't know what to do. Asking her to not talk while I'm working might come off as mean, no? And since she's my manager, I don't really want to get on her bad side. How would any of you…
