how to politely request more money from my job without getting fired

I recently started a new job. I applied to be a crew member, but at the interview my boss told me she needed me to be a shift lead. I was super excited and (silly me) thought that that meant I would be getting paid more. I recently checked the app my job uses to tell us our schedules and pay, and I'm only getting 15.50 an hour (less due to taxes). I was making that much as a crew member in fast food. In my area rent is 1500 a month (and that's on the lower side). I am an adult with bills, groceries, and would like a good quality of life. A full time employee should be making 22 an hour for rent to be 1/3rd of their monthly income. Honestly I would settle for even a dollar more. How to I politely tell my boss that $15.50…
