Labor unions seem like a common talking point on Reddit to support the working class. I generally like the idea, but don’t know how it work out large scale. My question is if a union exists to only answer to its members, how can we prevent it from becoming against the best intentions for the general public?
Big example is police unions, but even I have seen issues with nursing unions that do improve conditions for nurses, but also prevent nurses (who I’ve seen do really terrible things) from being fired.
