How would you react if you were WFH and your employer decided you needed to have your camera on all day?

Basically I WFH and my boss has decided to implement a new rule where anyone working from home needs to be in a teams call together(about 20 of us), 8 hours a day, with their camera on at all times. Our productivity is great so the reason given was that it’s supposed to “boost morale”, when I mentioned to my boss that I wasn’t really comfortable with this they said “Just give it a try for a while” and then completely shut down me down. Am I overreacting in that I’d consider resigning if this new policy was here to stay?
