so I applied for a job and the interview went well. The hiring manager pretty much said the position would be mine. I send my references to HR the same day they asked for them.
2 weeks go by and I hear nothing. I call and email HR and they said they never received my references and ended up choosing another person. The email chain clearly showed that it was sent and delivered and I didn’t receive any undelivered notice. So I basically didn’t get the job because some boomer didn’t know how to use email. Or they were playing games with me, I don’t know.
I turned down 2 job offers while waiting for them to get back to me. These bullshit games were a great reminder of why I initially said fuck it with corporate. Got my own small business that I’ll continue to grow. Even though I won’t make as much money, I won’t have to deal with stuff like this.
