Thank you for taking the time to read. I am truly upset and don’t really have anyone to vent to or get advice from. I’ve been at my job for a year and our team is composed of about 15 other level 1 employees. All of my performance reviews and KPI reviews have come back amazing. I have not gotten any corrective actions and I come to work, I work hard, and I work efficient. This is a remote job.
My supervisor continues to pile more and more work on me even though I feel that I am performing at a level 2 already. I would volunteer for things, I still help train people when they need, and I seek out difficult tasks. Well I stopped about 2 months ago when I called my supervisor out for overlooking me to learn new work streams. She could not give me a reason why I wasn’t being trained so then they gave me more training. I also noticed that everyone else on the team that started around the time I did and even after me got an early shift. So I brought that up and got an earlier shift.(begrudgingly).
For the last 2 months since I’ve brought these things up to my supervisor I have noticed she picks apart things I do. She uses a condescending tone, and she continues to be patronizing. I also noticed that an employee she previously worked with was hired and has been getting trained on more complex things that would set him up to be promoted first. My supervisor is also had another level 1 employee call me out on a task I was doing in a public chat. My supervisor told me I am good at my work and get the job done so she gave me more work. Why is she not understanding that rewarding me with more work but not more money is not a reward? I do not want promoted on this team anymore. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to learn more complex work streams that make my day easier. Instead she is rewarding those slower performers with more complex tasks that would set them up to get more money. That would look better on a resume… why is she doing this to me?
I feel as though she is retaliating against me since I spoke up 2 months ago.
Any input is greatly appreciated and welcomed. Any stories of similar situations are welcomed too.
