So I made the mistake of leaving a not ideal job for what I thought would be a fantastic opportunity, oh no. We have been so short for the year I've been here I've been expected to work 3 peoples worth of work, ive done senior management work (i am not a manager and this is all above my pay grade with no talk of promotion). The burnout came last month, I spoke to my manager and my senior separately about this and both of them told me there's nothing to be stressed about and basically just suck it up and get on with it. The joke is the company has posters all over the place promoting mental health and claiming to be an amazing company for wellbeing.
I called in sick 3 times this year, once with covid, once with stress and once with stomach bug. I've been called out on this as not being good practice. When youre off sick here the manager phones daily asking when you'll be back in and if you could work from home while sick. No thank you.
I am a human being and I can only take so much, if you want to hire someone with no feelings and no physical ailments then hire a robot. Things aren't going to get better any time soon and I've realised my self worth, so I'm out of here as soon as I can.
