So I am a content writer for a local law firm with about 35 employees. I started in May and after a few months began to notice oddities about how the firm was ran.

1 Head attorney who started firm loves Dogs so employees bring them to office EVERYDAY, which was cool but it became odd when you look at our Facebook page you would assume it's a vets office. Pica of dogs dressing up and maybe 10% of posts are law related.

2 ALOT of pointless meeting or what I call job justification. Everyone loved starting projects that do 0 to help.msrketing or engagement of possible clients. We would put up posts saying send us your favorite recipe and win $100 giftcard.. not 1 recipe sent in.

So I began to see employees wasting money on things that will not grow the law firm but because they play into the owners likes its ok. Another oddity was how mean some of the woman were, not to me… I worked alone being a writer ans not a paralegal.
So Friday I go into work and am asked to come talk to the office manager and head attorney. They tell me I'm a great writer and they want to keep a relationship so they can hire me as needed as a contractor but there isn't enough work to keep me on staff. They said there is no cause so apply for unemployment and they won't fight it(wow so kind) and that they just looked at year end Financials and can't do it.
I wanted to say maybe they would do better if there was less meetings about B.S. projects and more work and less job justification… but I didnt.. so out of work and 2 kids. No type of christmas bonus, no severance since it's a mid sized law firm. Nothing at all.
