I started a job 4 months ago that has super toxic leadership and the business owner picks on me specifically and targets me in meetings. I loved my supervisor and she was the only one who had my back but she is now leaving in 2 weeks.
2 months in, this place fired this guy and then gave me all of his work with no raise (it is a completely separate job than what I do). And now with my supervisor leaving, they said “until” they replace her it’ll be “all hands on deck” (aka me doing all of her work as well). I’m fucking terrified and am having nightmares every night about when she leaves. There will be no buffer between me and toxic leadership and she was the only person who had my back, who I could go to for support when I was being bullied by the owner or if they were micromanaging etc.
So anyway I’ve been applying for jobs like crazy, but I’ve also been liking posts on LinkedIn about “quiet promotions” (aka more responsibilities with no increase in pay). Im hoping I get fired so I can collect unemployment lol. Im pretty done at this point. And from now on I only want to work for places with unions and less precarity.
Does anyone have advice for managing this? Should I just quit? I am so miserable
Oh and ps I DO have a glowing rec from my supervisor regardless so that’s good.
