I appreciate my company even more now after reading the horror stories of terrible workplace environment.

Was going through the posts on this subreddit. Some of the companies and employers really hate their workers damn. Like I don’t think I can tolerate any of that now after working at my present job. I work for the company whose products are used by every other person. My work is all retail but I absolutely enjoy it because of how we are treated by the company. While we are on the floor helping customers, our managers can see our schedules, when our breaks are, etc. They regularly check on us to see if we have taken it, especially the 15 minute paid break.

Had a funny conversation when I was new there –

Manager: “OP, have you taken your 15 ?”

Me: “Ya”

Manager: “Are you sure?”

Me: “Yes”
🤣

The pay is amazing when compared to the rest of the jobs, considering this one doesn’t require any existing skills from any of the candidates. I don’t plan on staying here forever, will switch once I graduate but for now this is the best option I could have gotten.

I had been in this country for less than 8 months when I was hired and the workplace was as welcoming as it could be.
The benefits package here is icing on the cake.

P.S. As some of you might have guessed which company I am referring to, this post isn’t about their consumer practices and how they operate but more about how they treat their employees.
