I called out from work today…

I was feeling like crap and went back and forth as to whether I should suck it up and go in, but I was sick and exhausted, so after careful contemplation, I called off. I even looked at the schedule and made sure that they were going to be fine before I pulled the trigger. I’m not used to taking care of myself or calling in. I went to work one time straight after being discharged from the hospital…But the last couple of years have shown me, that this industry will suck you dry if you let it…and it supports and encourages burnout even tho they’ve had every opportunity to change the way it operates. A co-worker of mine called me (I picked up like a dummy) not to check on me, but to chastise me for not coming in. They don’t do shit while I’m there, so she probably…

My first win today was choosing me by staying home.

My second was blocking her.

My third was ramping up my job search.
