I can’t have Water at my Workplace? Restaurant Worker…

I work in a food court at a grocery store behind a big ol' hibachi grill. The other day, the store manager told me that I can't have water to drink anywhere in the kitchen, and that I have to travel to the bathroom hallway a hundred yards away anytime I wanted a drink. As you can imagine, this is impossible to do. It's also completely unreasonable to ask someone to work at a blazing hot grill without water. It feels unsafe for more reasons than one – main one being dehydration, of course. What can I do?
