I don't know how it goes in the US, but here in France managers have to give 3 months notice in order to quit. That time is so freaking long I had wonderfulls opportunities slipping through my fingers because I would arrive to late.
I gavr my 3 months notice at the end of February, that takes my current contract to the end of May. I tried negociating, to no avail.
In the past 6 weeks, my boss has given me all the passive aggressive flairs he could think of :
“Have you really thought this through ?”
“Are you sure you have the shoulders for your new position ?”
“You told me in our first interview that you liked stability. You're not proving it !”
And to others when I'm in the room :
“She's abandonning us !”
Now, during meetings, he turns to others and say about me : “We're in a tough situation due to her, so she has acceptes to stay until July, right ?”
He hides behind it being a joke, but I can feel he's trying to put pressure on me, either to make me feel guilty or to accept to stay longer.
But I have already send my notice to my current appartment, found a new one 1400km away along with a new job, and sold most of my furnitures, so screw you !
Anyway, just needed to vent about how work life sucks after you gave your notice…
