I could work completely from home but my work makes me feel like I’m the weird one wanting that/not a good employee

I have this BS work title that is essentially a monkey office job. Anyone could do it and it’s perfect for my life style right now considering I am pregnant. My co-workers are great to work with and working from home Fridays is the norm. Things have changed in the company, I have a new boss and my old boss is my bosses boss. I love my new boss, she’s very open for non bs discussions- only she is still trying to figure out all of her responsibilities and it has made it so she isn’t sure how to instruct my project time yet (I am customer service but also do side projects). So I end up making up what I need to do after my main responsibilities are done. This isn’t a problem for me because I do end up with things I can fill my time with that…

This isn’t a problem for me because I do end up with things I can fill my time with that are useful.

Here’s the catch: my boss goes home to work three times a week to pick up her kids and ends up working from home. Which is awesome, love it she’s still easy to get a hold of if I need her.

But when I want to work from home during the week there’s a sense that 1) I have to ask permission, versus my other co-workers that are salaried and just leave. (They also take off a lot of time hunting- again I don’t care but this is how it is) and 2) I shouldn’t ask to work from home unless I have a doctors appointment or I have a legit excuse.

It confuses me to no end and my boss told me we will have a meeting about what to expect soon- but Im curious on what she will say considering I can do my job from home 100% of the time.

Thanks for reading my venting session.
