I work at a phone company. We got a foot of snow. I kept telling my boss the roads were bad and he didn’t care. I told him it’s unlikely anyone will come in yet he still wanted me to come in.
The kicker here is I get paid on a drawer. That means I get paid hourly but it gets taken out of my commission. If I make $0 that day in commission but I made $160 in hourly, I lost $160 for that day. He and I discussed how we BOTH think no one will come in and it would be pointless for me come in. He agrees no one will come in and says to open the store just an hour later to keep the same closing hours.
Where I live they don’t really plow so as I’m taking my time to try and get to work he so badly needs me at, I end up swerving off the road and crashing my NEW car. I’ve only had the car for a week. I tell him and he still insists I come in. I am beyond furious at this. I wish he would pay for it but we all know that’s not going to happen.
