Like, your company was hacked and the passwords to your administrative (and other) accounts are just in plain text, in the description fields of active directory… and they didn’t change them.
An IT team that barely knows how to use a computer.
That spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on TVs but pennies on cybersecurity.
When I was hired, fucking DNS didn’t work. How the fuck does DNS not work in a god damn CORPORATION.
The senior guy deleted shit that broke email, and thus the ticketing system, for a company that relies on tickets.
Imagine, your servers not having an antivirus/malware solution.
Or deploying an antivirus to your computers but never configuring it.
Or keeping your IT passwords in an unencrypted excel file.
Or telling your boss, how the fuck do you not have two factor authentication, for 9 months, only to have them say, “our cyber insurance company decided they are not going to insure us if we don’t have two factor in a few weeks.”
Imagine waiting 8 months for a scope of work for an O365 migration. I could have done that entire migration in a couple fuckin g god damned days.
Did you know that if you don’t fucking g reboot your switches for SEVEN FUCKING GODDAMNED YEARS YOU ARE GOING TO FUCKING HAVE NETWORK PROBLEMS AND SECURITY FUCKING ISSUES.

You know what the most annoying goddamned shit about this was? That I took a 60% payout, willingly, because it was a cause I thought I believed in. That was before I found out they were spending two fucking hundred thousand dollars on TVs.
Well fuck that shit. I quit. I quit, and the bosses boss called me to follow up. I told her everything, and that they are a bunch of fucking dinosaurs that don’t know how computers work.
My coworker called me the next day and told me he was quitting, and that I can handle it. Fucking LOL.
I’m now a partner at a startup. I jokingly said if they want me to help out on-site they need to pay me 200 an hour. My partner laughed and said dude you are worth way more than that.
I don’t think he was kidding.
