What do you guys think?
One of the last jobs I was at my manager would ask the majority of us, “Are you coming back tomorrow?” almost everyday because people quit all the time. I came to the HR office to get my check after working my first 2 weeks there and the HR representative slowly handed me my check and asked,”You're not gonna leave are you?” I just took my check and walked out. I can't blame the employees for quitting. The HR department would just lie about the job description making it seem like it was an entry level IT position and all you ended up doing all day was plugging in computers and network booting them to run automated software test for $15hr all day so they ended up with hardcore computer geeks doing basic task with no room for promotion and they would eventually quit within 2 hours. Most didn't make past lunch. They would just say, “I'm going to the bathroom real quick” and never come back.
They could have easily solved the problem by 1) Not lying about the job description so they would get the right people and 2) PAY MORE!
Instead they tried to make everyone feel like family and make some crap excuse about the company is going through hard times right now so we had to embellish the job description a little bit to get people but just hang in there we'll get through this together. What they were doing wasn't working to their benefit because almost everybody they hired while I was there quit. Why would the company keep doing the same nonsense over and over again when it's hurting the company?!
