Hello There!
I'm 35. I have Asbergers and have worked for my company for 15 years now. I worked front end for most of that time. I started as a bagger, interchanged between that and register for awhile. Became FES near the end and was trained to do front end office work as well. Ended up drinking and getting in trouble for it as a result. I opted to be removed from that stress and got put into our “new” pick-up department. (Our location is older then balls, so we have a closet as our department.) Things were great to begin with. However, we are now being placed into the same category as our big brother peers and things have taken a dive. It's Superbowl weekend, as we all know, and it's been…difficult. When you walk into a wall of 100 orders with three pickers for your entire shift? It wears on you.
I don't know what this company is expecting. New hires have an expectation when it comes to work. Us “oldies” can handle more, I guess? But, WE are getting sick of this bullshit as well. I'm getting to the age of bum knees and random ouch. Eight hours of no breaks and nothing to eat/drink and poo breaks are starting to wear on me. This company is going to wither faster then a boner on fire if it doesn't check itself. If you are pissing off old AND new hires at the same time? Gonna find yourself in a bad place.
