I might be crazy but I noticed a lot in the past my coworkers came from abusive (commonly alcoholic) homes growing up. I also notice a decent amount of the younger ones come from being raised by obsessive helicopter parents when they were young.
I’m talking about the people who have been in certain service industries for years but hate it consantly.
I think I notice this because these are industries that revolve around serving other people’s demands unquestionably (for little to no reward). I feel like these industries not neccissarily attract, but “trap” some people. Particularly those who grew up in homes where the theme of their existance was emotional neglect and/or playing a servant role to the parent’s needs and emotions. Seeing the hypothetical connection as it can be almost a familiar lifestyle. I feel like some of this applies to me to an extent, understanding that after a point in life destiny is within your own hands.
Anyone like to add on or kindly prove my ignorance would be welcome.
