I got a Strike for being sick and finding no coverage + being late ((I use public transportation)) even though I let the managers know ahead of time

So I received the email that I received two strikes within two days. And I have let the manager working that I will be late and when I’ve been sick. I work food service ((bc a bachelors degree doesn’t guarantee a job in your field)) and sometimes I’m the only front of house on certain days cashing and packing the desserts. And I have complained to HR about it and they have done nothing. I feel like getting a strike for calling sick is very unreasonable. Plus my job is filled with high schoolers who can’t work mornings. I have always showed up at work even though I know I’m the only person working. I have even showed up literally right after a nipple piercing appointment. But this just seems all too unfair and HR is basically one person. What should I even say or do? Is looking for another…
