I checked several of our stores to find all the pieces of an order for a customer. They had ordered a bunch of headsets for a school and the sale on it would be pretty big so I went the extra mile.
All correspondences went through me and I personally called 8 of our stores to make sure we got every headset the customer wanted. I gave them a good package price and verified with the regional manager that everything was in order before telling the customer the prices. I spent a lot of hours getting this done and after 2 weeks I had everything ready for pickup.
Two days ago we had a new guy start and our shifts haven't aligned yet so I haven't met him. I think my boss is intentionally making sure we don't meet in the first week as I am our union rep and my boss is the only one here that's not a union member. She has specifically said she's not a fan of unions and what I do so she's trying to get the new guy to not join according to my other coworkers that have met him already.
Today I started work 2 hours after the new guys shift ended and the first this i hear from my co-workers when I walk in is that our boss told the new guy to use his sales code when processing my big order. That way the new guy got the sale and there is no way to undo it…
At first I was super angry and upset. Then I took a breath and calmed down. The new guy is not to blame obviously so I won't even mention it to him. There is no way to reverse the sale and give it to me so what's done is done.
I am just so tired…
Once I get more people here trained in union work I'm out. I have already done more than enough to improve working conditions and perks for others. It might be time I take a break and look for something I actually enjoy doing.
