I've been working as a substitute since December. I took a long-term sub job for 2 weeks that going into i was told would have me earning $24.70 an hour. I got my paycheck and I was paid at $17 an hour. The payroll department at the district says that I'm not eligible for long term pay because I didn't grade tests and put then in the grade book and therefore wasn't their teacher of record. I didn't have access to a gradebook and I wasn't given rubrics for how things were graded either. Everything else I did. I kept them on pace, I administered two tests, I talked with parents, dealt with their awful behavior. But because I didn't put a fucking grade in, which I literally wasn't given access too, I don't get the pay I was lured in with. I don't paid over the summer, so all of that was supposed to go in my savings fund. I'm so angry.
