This happened last year, but figured I’d share because this was so ridiculous. I was looking for a FT job in a niche industry, and there weren’t a lot of options in my area. I noticed a company had been posting a position for well over a year (red flag perhaps?) and I finally went ahead and applied for it.
My phone interview went great and I was called back for an in person interview. I got my hair cut, bought a new outfit, prepared my interview questions, everything. I get to the interview and the woman I spoke with on the phone brings be back to an office where we begin the interview.
I thought all was going great until about 10-15 minutes into the interview, her boss shows up with his laptop. I was confused and didn’t know someone else would be joining, and I also thought it was strange to be so late. Then he goes “do you mind if I work on my laptop? I have a lot to do.” I should’ve said yes I do care, but kinda shrugged it off. Honestly thinking back, I should’ve just walked out.
Well he was obviously was not invested in my interview and I didn’t get the position. That company is still posting that same position, so I believe I dodged a bullet.
