I'm in Canada so things are a bit different here. I'm just really frustrated that in order to become a police officer, firefighter, EMT, teacher or work just about any decent job in the public service here you need to have a lot of relevant work experience and even then it's no guarantee.
Public servants in Canada are generally paid better than their private sector counterparts and keep getting raises despite the quality of service never increasing. Seriously, good luck getting cops to take stalking or rape seriously here or getting child support enforced. The schools aren't any better here. If you're poor or working class they discourage you from going to university.
It's sucks because if you're someone who genuinely wants to do those sorts of jobs you're out of luck but if you're just looking for money and are willing to play into the bs you have a chance.
