I work in patient care as a receptionist and I cannot stand the crap that I am out through by the general public. Your insurance sucks and didn’t pay out now you’re left with a bill? It’s the receptionist fault! Your insurance is for mental health and substance abuse? Also the receptionist-after all she came to your house, sat down with you, and helped you purchase this particular insurance. You decided to not show up to your past four appointments and now the doctors don’t want to see you? Also her fault. Oh you’re over an hour late and you can’t get your appointment? Damn..why didn’t she come to your house and give you a ride to the office?
The abuse that receptionist endure for a paycheck this pathetic is astounding. I have been threatened with bodily harm over the stupidest shit. Having a grown man stand in front of you and call you vile names and tell you he’s going to beat the shit out of you with a lobby full of people is not a great feeling. More than one person has threaded to commit mass murder at my job because they gasp have to pay for their services as healthcare is free in America! Can people just not help but be a huge prick to some stranger?
