I work in retail, I know I know
When it comes to lifting/loading…
It happens all the time where customers say things like “it must be nice to be young!” Or to a partner “honey let’s let the young strong guy do it” as they just stand there.
I’m not even strong lol I weigh 134 pounds, I guess because I’m not obese that means perfect health?
I have sciatica and when it all of a sudden turns into a sharp pain, it’s like a debilitating shock. Had an MRI a while back and was basically told it’s not bad enough for surgery, which is good, so it’s just about pain management/exercises.
Still though, days where it really bugs me are not fun.
I’m not like a lot here who can find a better tech/computer job paying $15k more annually or what not. I don’t even have a career at 29, I can’t do this job forever
I have a Bachelors that I got 8 years ago, unfortunately just got stuck in a rut of things not working out. Thank God I don’t have kids though, I don’t think I would want to put them through with the rat race
Anyone else have a similar story/advice?
