So, I work in retail and don't get holidays like a normal person as in no christmas or busy periods for the place. I have applied for annual leave not once but twice because I have hours to use and both times I haven't been able to take time off because my team literally has nobody to cover me while I am away as we are all worked to maximum. I am so ready to quit this shithole. I am burnt out here so the time off is NEEDED. It's not just some holiday, I actually need the time away from work for my own mental health and I can't even get that. I hate retail.
