I am primarily bedbound due to complications from five scoliosis surgeries. You can stalk my post history for more information, but the TL/DR is that I am 29 years old and just finished a Master of Liberal Arts degree. Because of my medical issues, I did not have the opportunity to gain experience from internships or jobs, and I have no formal work experience. Aside from earning a 4.0 in my undergraduate and graduate programs, there is nothing special about my resume. I am currently a freelance editor and am sharpening my skills through the University of Chicago, but editing jobs—both in-house and freelance—are increasingly competitive. I do not enjoy freelancing and would prefer stable, remote work I can do from my laptop. I do not qualify for disability, and my fantastic husband supports me. I want to contribute financially to our future and desperately need something to do. My mental health is tanking fast.
I want to find an “employer” to put on my resume from May 2020 to the present, for whom I served as a virtual assistant. Ideally, you would serve as a reference and sign a letter of recommendation, which I will write for you. I will supply you with my resume and any other information you need. As long as it is framed as a freelance/contract position, it should not appear on a background check, credit history, etc. I will primarily apply to virtual administrative assistant, legal assistant, paralegal, editing roles, etc. I will gladly pay someone for their time and effort. Please PM me to work out the details, and thank you for reading.
P.S. If this isn't allowed, I'm sorry and I understand—please delete.
