I just wasted two hours on some stupid tests not even related to the job offer.

Hello reddit I'm still quite new to this aspect of the site always a lurker not much of posting. I've been lurking this site because I'm trying to find a better job and always find fascinating your stories because at least from my experience in my country we don't really have many problems with interviews or job requirements or benefits. We do have a great salary problem with many people living on minimum wage and the median class getting fucked over because most state benefits are for people classified as poor even when some of them have a few houses or businesses. So that's my case I'm trying to finish my studies and need extra money since I have a side project also on the works. This week I found a job offer aligned with my field and what I'm currently studying. So the offer requirements where advanced English level, networking experience, it support experience and certifications. It pays a bit more than my current job but it's really close to my place like a 15 min walk. I was sold, immediately applied and expected their response.

They sent and email with several links for “knowledge testing” and expected me to answer them before tomorrow morning. I was shocked by the time frame since they sent the email just a few hours ago. I thought those where some easy quick tests maybe fill out information and done. My god the amount of questions each of those fucking tests had was absurd 40+ questions none of them related to anything of the job offer, the English qualification test looked like a children's test really basic questions I mean I'm not expert but come on if you ask for advanced English level at least try to put some difficulty on your exam. Most of the other tests were about sales and product offerings and many of them were exactly the same questions. To make things worse the final test was an amazing service oriented exam, over a hundred questions on how to deal with clients and again with repeated questions. During this whole process not a single test had anything to do with technical stuff or skills.

At this point I was mad but decided to finish it because at the end of each test there was a link for comments and recommendations about this process. So I let myself be as expressive as possible and roasted them as hard as I could. Expressing my real thoughts on what it felt like to be part of thjs tedious examination. Shit like this has never happened to me it was the very first and last time I'm answering this kind of tests, if I see this kind of thing again in a future job offer I'll just ignore it no matter how much they pay I can't even imagine what it would be to work for them. Sorry it this is too long I just needed to vent I guess.
