In the last year my dog of fourteen years and a couple really close friends died. Then my mom committed suicide six months ago. Plus a plethora of minor shit that has added up to being the worst year/year and a half of my life.
Yesterday some asshole slammed on their brakes to a stop in the left lane and someone plowed into me going 70, totaling my only car. My boss just bought me a new car to make sure I can still go to work and provide for my four kids.
I live paycheck to paycheck like everyone else. It would’ve taken months to buy a beater. I would’ve lost my job due to no transportation. But my boss said I was valuable and only have had good words from other employees about my work ethic.
There are a few good ones out there. I’ve only been with this fire protection company for almost two months and he’s buying me a car just to keep me around.
I know it’s hard. I know bosses suck. But today, at least for me,I found a great one
