I am a recent landlord, with stock market being as much bullshit as it is I figured buying a condo was a much safer investment. Rent comparables in this area are $1,200-$1,600.
I priced my updated condo at $1400, got a couple that were very interested and excited to move in. I asked for the usual documents including paystubs… That's where my mind was absolutely blown.
This person worked 100 hours in two weeks they make $16 an hour and $24 an hour with overtime.
Their GROSS pay for those two weeks with overtime was
$1,739.40
Of that they received $1,087.00
They bring home 2k a month working 200 hours a month. That's only $500 a week. This person works 200 hours a a month and can't can't afford to live in a medium market rent condo in average area.
What the actual fuck is going on.
