I love writing books – it's a lot of work. Writing, formatting, creating covers, filling a thousand forms so you can self-publish… Between 2019 and 2021, I've published 5 books in Portuguese, and then translated two of them to English. I do it for free. I put them on Amazon, because it's the only way a lot of people can discover it, but I also have a website with them for free. Even on Amazon, whenever they let me, I offer them for free.
I also love recording songs – so much work! I've recorded 20 albums so far, I guess. I also do it for free, just for my enjoyment. Nobody likes it, but when they do, they can listen to it, or download it for free. Why not? It's already done and it's free to copy. I'm not losing my copy.
I love creating or editing videos for the songs. I love learning new things and experimenting and creating stuff. What I don't like is having a job. Naturally, if I want to work for free as an artist, I also need a job to support me. That is awful and it's getting worse everyday. Are we supposed to have our lives drained for fewer and fewer coins until death?
I don't think I'm getting to retirement. Am I supposed to be lazy, because I hate this specific kind of “work”? That sounds ridiculous to me.
