I put in my notice today, worried the company won’t pay out PTO

I am a remote employee who lives in Rhode Island. From best I can tell, RI law states that, unless there is written notice somewhere, they have to pay out PTO in full. That last part is the key. The company I am with (and am leaving) was bought out a few years ago, and I have never once seen anything approaching an 'Employee Handbook' or any written policy that states they won't pay PTO out in full. However, a couple of coworkers that left stated they only got somewhere between 40%-60% of their PTO balance paid out, and I think that is kinda BS. For reference, I have 3 full weeks of PTO sitting unused. I would lose a ton of that is what they will pay. Now, I know posting to Reddit isn't gonna get me experts in Rhode Island labor laws (I mean, it might, who knows),…

Now, I know posting to Reddit isn't gonna get me experts in Rhode Island labor laws (I mean, it might, who knows), but what would my options be here if that is what they offer to pay? I know, for one, I will ask to see where it says that in writing and in a place that is accessible to employees. I checked all over our internal site, and there is nothing.

Would I have any other option? I mean, calling a lawyer could help, or the labor board, don't know which would be better.
